I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I've been a student in many different activities, in many different countries, and in three different languages. When I am determined to learn something, like I am with horsemanship, I approach the subject from all angles--theory, practice, analysis, science, feel. And because I intend to continue working with horses, I have a purpose. That makes me a hard worker and a quick learner.
All facets of horse training and managing farms and ranches, including general maintenance.
I got my start as a teenager riding Western in New York. I worked on some cattle ranches in Arizona where I revived my interest in horses, and later worked in Colorado and Wyoming starting and training mustangs. I have learned various disciplines of horsemanship on three different continents. I helped start the first "Natural Horsemanship" program in Nicaragua, worked with Paso Fino horses in Colombia and Peru, then moved to Andalucia, Spain and learned about lineage and the training techniques of old Spanish riders. I'm currently working with Spanish Mustangs in Switzerland.
Starting Western Foals Imprinting Foals Softening up response to signals Natural Horsemanship Rider balance and harmony between horse and human
Western and bareback. Eager to learn more about English styles, show jumping, and dressage.
What I can offer is a solid foundation of horsemanship basics. I am well read and versed in the many big-names of the horse training world, and I have worked with enough horses to have tried various techniques and find what works well for my personality and the horses.
In the equine world, the concept of "feel" comes up in conversation pretty often: what it means, how we know when it's there, why some people seem more predisposed to it than others. I believe I have a natural penchant for feel, but that only goes so far. Without learning and experience along the way, it is essentially useless. That is why I am ready to take my horsemanship to the next level. I want to continue to build on the advances I've made in the last few years.
