I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Science with a specialization in Equine Management as well as my British Horse Society Stage One certification. In January of 2018 I received my Level One Instructor Certification in Centered Riding. I am also certified in First Aid/CPR for both adults and children.
BHS Stage 1
I have been working with horses since the 2003. In 2011, I received my first paid barn staff position. In January 2014 I started at Delaware Valley University for Equine Business Management. I graduated May 2017 with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science with a specialization in Equine Business Management. During my career at DVU I learned a lot of practical and theoretical skills, some of which consist of: giving IM/IV injections, trans-rectal palpations for cycling mares, and clipping/braiding for competitions. I also had a wide variety of internships: working at an equine/animal rescue; being an assistant instructor; and working as a volunteer at a therapeutic riding center where I became employed. I started the therapeutic equestrian center in October 2016 as barn staff; in January 2017 I became an instructor; and finally, in September 2017 I was promoted to Barn Manager. I worked there until April 2018. Currently I am working as an equine business consultant on a part time basis.
I have a lot of patience; therefore I am pretty adept at working with a nervous rider. I like to build confidence in all my riders, but especially in a nervous rider. I am willing to take the time it needs to conquer their fears, but I am also not afraid to push them when they need to be.
I have been riding since 2003 and was originally taught Hunter Equitation. When I began college I was introduced to the riding technique known as Centered Riding; this technique focuses on the biomechanics of horse and rider to create a better riding experience. It can be applied to all riding disciplines. I am most familiar with English disciplines. At this point in time, I would describe my riding skill level as Advanced-Intermediate.
Two years ago I began my competition career in Eventing. I have competed at unrated shows at the lower levels. I would like to continue to compete and advance through the levels.
