I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.

While having a strong passion for horses, I also have a love for other animals including household pets and farm animals. I can easily and openly speak to the general public and know how to think on my feet. I'm always eager to learn new skills and techniques to not only expand my knowledge, but also educate the public. I also have office and computer skills and CPR certified with American Heart Association.
I have ridden both English and Western since I was nine and know how to tack and groom. I also have knowledge in basic first-aid and some husbandry. From 2012-2014 I volunteered at Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship in Chatsworth where I assisted trainers with teaching disabled children and adults horseback-riding and the basic fundamentals of equine care and management. In 2015, I competed in the Bishop Mule Days Interscholastic Packing Competition with Pierce College's Equine Program and assisted in the I Want to Be a Packer program, which taught youth the importance of the packing industry and how to properly tie hitches. From October 2016-January 2017 I completed a 3-month internship at The Dancing Horses Theatre which included, but not limited to, mucking stalls, feeding, graining, administrating medication, grooming, tacking, turnout, equipment cleaning and costumes changes during the show.
Having worked customer service as well as volunteering at Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship and Ventura County Animal Shelter, I can speak fluently and confidently with the general public. I'm eager to please and a hard worker, open to learning new things to further my knowledge of equine management and care, as well as provide great service to those who share a similar passion.
