I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I've worked as a rider and stablehand amongst public country and private hunter/dressage stables. Throughout my time I had many years to train in the saddle, particularly with country hacks. Both whilst riding and working on yards I've been trusted to handle spooky and new, young horses, teaching them to adapt to public schooling and to being handled. A lot of the work I did was very informal as my focus was on exercising horses and helping them with their behaviour, particularly when difficult and acting out when ridden. Country hacks taught me how to handle unexpected situations well; helping other riders with tack malfunctions, re-mounting whilst out, handling a troubled horse and practising safety on roads. Alongside this I am a clean, efficient worker happy to help with basic horse grooming and cleaning. Recently I participated in a summer camp in Canada where I helped lead groups of children 6-13, teaching them general horse safety, tacking up, grooming and riding basics.
My time riding has been very country orientated in local hacks, private and group, though there were few instances of one-on-one training from my long-time teacher in racing. I am very confident in the saddle, even without knowing formal and event riding, being on roads and in open terrain for many years set me to be a sensible and strong rider.
