I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.

currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I have been riding since I was 6 and in saddle club from 10 years old at Fort Widley where I stayed for 7 years. I leant so much from my time there, it gave me confidience around horses and improved my riding ability. By the time I left I was running the yard, making sure all the jobs got done and horses were ready for their lessons. I ran the own a pony days for children durng the school holidays. I went on to college and university where I studied sport and exercise science and got a 2:1 degree. During this time I was riding and had a horse on loan. The owner allowed me to ride all her horses which gave me a fantastic opportunty to progress further in my riding ability from cross country and jumping to flat work and hacking. I enjoy all aspects of riding however in the last year I found my real passion lies in dressage. I now have my own horse that I brought on from a youngster and has been a challenge. This year we started doing unaffiliated dressage competitions.
I volunteered in a riding school for 7 years where I rode a variety of horses in many disciplines from hacking, jumping gymkhanas and flat work. I also was in charge of 'own a pony' days where I organised the children with the horse care, took them on hacks and gave them a lesson. I also shared my knowledge and taught them about basic care for horses including feeding, mucking out, grooming and tacking up.
I have done low level competitions from a young age from being part of saddle club at Fort Widley.
I have recently been been competing in unaffiliated dressage competitions with my green horse where we have been getting placed.
