I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of Findlay in Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management, spent 3 summers as a working student for three different hunter/jumper barns, and I worked as an assistant trainer at a hunter/jumper barn in Southern California where I oversaw a small staff, rode, and taught lessons. I am also currently pursuing a M.S. in Educational Psychology online.
I began riding and showing hunter/jumpers when I was 6 and have worked as a stable hand/groom for several hunter/jumper barns and was a working student for Terri Wherley of Hunter Glen Farm, Wendy Staub of Magic Rose Farm, and Kayla Dechart of Azure Ridge Farm.
I graduated from the University of Findlay with a B.S. in Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management in 2020. Through my classes, I rode many different types of horses varying in ages and levels of training (including starting a couple of young horses under-saddle) and studied topics related to equine science and equine business management. After graduating, I spent 6 months working as an assistant trainer at a Cellar Door Farm in Southern California where I oversaw the care of 20 horses, rode 6-10 horses daily (including lesson, client, and sales horses), and taught lessons. Most recently, I have worked as a grad assistant for the OSU Equestrian Team, helping them win the 2022 NCEA National Championship.
Hunter/jumper grooming, riding, training, and teaching
I have experience riding and showing all types of hunter/jumper horses including young/green horses and experienced show horses. I have also successfully started and re-started a handful of few young horses under-saddle that went on to successful careers as hunter/jumpers.
I have shown at many local hunter/jumper shows in the PA/MD area, but most recently have shown at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, OH. I also competed regularly with the University of Findlay's English IHSA team in Open fences and Intermediate flat and represented the University of Findlay at both IHSA and ANRC Nationals in 2019.
