I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I have to feed the horses in the AM and PM. Turn them out and bring them in. I also go out for feed and hay. I have to make sure that the horses keep a healthy weight. I trailer horses as well. Wellness checks, first aid. Stallls. Farrier appts.
I've been at this for 15 years. I started as a stable hand, in middle-school, in exchange for lessons and learning more about the beasts. As I got older I got more brave. I started feeding in the evenings solo by high school, and right after graduation I became a barn manager. A few years later I moved down to South C. where I became a barn manager for an Egyptian Arabian Stud Farm. While working there I learned about raising babies and how to handle them from the minute they touch the ground. I also got my fair share of stallion time. There were over 20 stallions at this farm! About a year later my first daughter was born, so I had to take a break from the horses to tend to my own young. Five years later, I got back to what I love. I started back at a Fox Hunting barn as a groom. Six months after that I became a Barn Manager at an Equestrian Center, where I am currently employed. I also have a side business of grooming and clipping, as well as starting under saddle and ground work.
I am a teachable person who is always looking to learn something new. I take pride in all of my experiences and accomplishments. I always try to be the best at what I do. I never stop trying to better myself.
I have only had a handful of actual lessons in my life time. I basically taught myself how to ride. As a groom we had to do exercise rides for the boarders horses. I have also broken a few horses (started under saddle). I just don't have much experience in any specific discipline. I know how to stay on and I easily pick up new skills under instruction.
