I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Bachelor of Science in Equine Business Management, Associate of Arts in Equestrian Studies Western Riding/Training Emphasis. I have taken classes on farm equipment, have limited experience with driving skid steer and tractor as well as truck and trailer. I have been a certified riding instructor in the state of Connecticut when I was instructing at camp.
Previous work includes: luxury boarding barn (general equine care), working security for my university's western equestrian farm, guiding trail rides, colt starting. Mostly western riding, limited english experience.
In my own personal horse experience I have had limited work involving breeding. Most of my years in the saddle have been trail riding. This includes extreme trails, I have experience riding everything from rock ledges to crossing big rivers, running sand hills and everything else you can think of. I have also been in charge of preparing horses for trails, training to accept water and such. I have been a trail guide and have also helped train horses for them to carry customers safely on trails. I have worked with children and taught lessons for summer camps. I have even walked ponies for pony rides. Finally I have experience working for a luxury boarding barn. I was in charge of about 20 horses and duties included turn out/in, feeding, mucking, and all the other normal barn chores.
Work with young horses and trail horses. I have experience starting colts, mostly through my University. I have a bachelor's degree in Equine Business Management as well as a associate's degree in Western Equestrian Studies from the University of Findlay. This has given me a background in many western events. I have practiced showmanship, horsemanship and various other events. Interested in language have started learning several such as Dutch, French, and German.
First I would like to mention, my end goal is to gain as much experience in the equestrian world as I can. I am interested in learning and gaining experience in everything from eventing, western pleasure, endurance, reining and so on. I have worked with young horses before, in my experience I have done best with green horses, not unbrokes, and not necessarily tuning up show horse, though the more I can learn the better.
I have very limited experience in the show ring. The only outside show I compete in was huntseat eq and I placed 3rd of 10 in an open show. Beside that while at the university we have finals as a show and I had great results especially on my first colt. I got him as an unbroke and we finished finals with a 4th (45 entered) in horsemanship, as well as 4th (45 entered) in showmanship, and called back for both our western pleasure classes.
