I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Riding competition and young horses, grooming (clipping, bandaging, everyday tasks), managing horse care/needs, assistance with veterinary needs.
I have managed 2 show jumping barns with over 40 horses. I was responsbile for maintaining the stable area, grooming the horses and riding. My team and I, also traveled to horseshows, where we groomed the horses for the trainer and clients, and also competed ourselves.
In addition, I have held 2 internships with veterinarians. I worked in North Carolina State University's veterniary clinic, and I was an assistant for Dr. Cardenas. During both internships I had experience with basic veterinary practices such as injections (IM & IV), surgical preparation, and wound care. I have the most experience in performance horse lameness, as that was Dr. Cardenas's speciality, and I assisted in the diagnosis of lamenesses inlcuding soft tissue damage. Overall, I am comfortable handling equine health.
I have experience with show jumpers through 1.40m. I also have dressage experience under James Koford. I have the most experience however with starting breaking/starting young performance horses.
I have the most experience in show jumping. I have trained and competed through 1.40m in the United States. I have ridden with Matthias Hollberg, Manuel Torres and Kyle Timm. I do have dressage experience through level 4 with James Koford. I value flat work for jumping horses just as much as dressage performance horses.
I have competed through CSI ***, including venues at Lexington, KY and Old Salem, NY. I am comfortable at horse shows and understand the necessary actions to ensure the best performance of horses and clients.
