I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Life Sciences with a Minor in Equine Studies from Truman State University. Classes I took include: Equine Anatomy and Physiology, Equine Reproduction and Reproduction Practicum, Equine Nutrition, and Equine Training Techniques. I have continued to pursue my own education and continue to attend webinars and conferences such as Horse Speak and learning the Masterson Method. With the Masterson Method, I have taken an advanced Equine Anatomy class.
I am the Lead Instructor at a therapeutic riding barn and teach about 8 lessons/day. I do all client, staff, & volunteer scheduling, lesson notes & billing, herd health & feedings, new horse training, event planning, and overall barn maintenance.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Agricultural and Life Sciences at Truman State University with a minor in Equine Studies. During my time at Truman, I competed on the Equestrian Hunt Team in IHSA shows as well as completed a summer internship in Equine Management in Chazy, NY at the W.H. Miner Agricultural Institute. It is at Miner Institute that I learned key management skills in running a profession equine facility. Upon graduation from Truman, I was asked to return to NY as the Post Graduate Equine Management Intern where I really honed the skills to manage the barn. The typical post graduate internship is one year and I was lucky enough to stay an extra six months. Please refer to resume for more specifics on these experiences and my current employment as a lead instructor at a therapeutic barn!
I am currently working on becoming a certified practitioner in the Masterson Method of equine bodywork. The anatomy and physiology of a horse really interests me as well as the quiet understanding of how a horse processes and holds tension throughout their body. I have worked with foals, stallions, and broodmares. I have collected, processed and shipped semen, and inseminated mares. I have worked with people with special needs and disabilities. I have been the sole charge of facilities.
I have knowledge and experience in starting young horses and riding green horses. I have the most experience in showing equitation and riding on the flat, and some hunter over fences shows with IHSA. Currently I continue to take jumping lessons at a riding school along with light trail riding and schooling on my own horse and work horses.
I competed with IHSA for 3 years in college in hunter/jumper. That is the most I have shown professionally outside of small county shows for fun. Aside from riding, I thrive in organizing and helping run horse shows. I have helped plan our home shows in college as well as Morgan breed shows when I was in NY.
