I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I worked over the summer at a friend of the family's stables. I did the "dirty work" but I really enjoyed it. I had to wake up at 6am to go out, feed each horse their allotted amount of feed, let them out, clean each stall, and any other things they needed. Whenever they held classes I would help where I was needed. Some liked me to tack their horses, and if someone was running late I would "hold" their horse so they could just jump on and waste little time. I'm very eager to learn more.
I assist guests with any issues they may come across to make them as happy and satisfied as possible. I assist managers with anything they might need, as well as troubleshoot issues before it's gets to them.
I spent the summer at a family friend's stables and had to "work to eat" so to speak. I learned how to tack up horses for myself and others, maintain a clean and healthy stall (and horse), as well as exercise the horse daily. I just enjoy being around them. I loved doing work with the horses, especially the parts where it was just me, the hard work, and the horse I was working with. When class was in session, I would assist riders with getting their horses ready and being there if they needed anything they couldn't get while on the horse (things like water). Some riders would pass their horse off to me after class and I would be responsible for getting the horse back to it's stall safe and sound. I enjoyed every second of it and cannot wait to get back to it.
I absolutely adore working with people and I am very self motivated. I like doing the best job possible because I it makes me happy knowing everything is in line and working smoothly. I like working with other people as it makes time go by smoother, but I also enjoy working alone and being more detailed oriented. I enjoy solving issues or making things that already work, work better. I have always loved animals, and to be able to work with them would be phenomenal.
Basic skill level, so my ride work was typically just exercising the horse and going out for pleasure rides. No professional experience.
