Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. BHS Stage 1
Currently Keeping the yard swept and tidy, Haying, Mucking and skipping out, Helping to turn out and bring in horses, other normal tasks at a riding school past jobs Over seeing others work Fulfilling orders Stock control Meeting deadlines.
I have been riding for around 25 years. I would say I have done, perhaps, a 50/50 split between hacking and lessons with more hacking in summer. With horses, I used to help out at the small stables, when I first learnt to ride. There I helped to muck out, clean food bowls and tack, grooming, leading horses to and from the fields and helped at gymkhanas. I have done my BHS Stage 1 and the Ride Safe exams. Other experience I have is for a few months, I had lessons on a competition horse called Red, here I would often stay after my lessons and help out a bit again, poo picking stables, grooming horses, washing them down and occasionally helping out in the kids’ lessons. I have recently completed an Equine First Aid course and have recently re-started my Stage 2 training. At the moment, I am volunteering at a equestrian centre, twice a week, for experience. I help with filling haynets, mucking out, checking waters, taking horses in and out of the fields, and other tasks as needed.
Over the years I have developed some life skills. I am fairly confident with plumbing, soldering pipes, installing toilets, sinks, baths and taps, and minor electrical works. Such as wiring, installing sockets, switches, lights and such, as well as being able to use a wide variety of power tools.
I have mainly ridden riding centre horses, in lessons and hacks.
