I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.

I have ridden since the age of 2 starting on our miniature shetland pony (which we still own) and progressed onto a Welsh section A pony, which I was the first to back, and I rode him for several years successfully competing in events at our local riding club. I then moved onto a New Forest pony and after a couple of years of hard work producing him we became a member of our local pony club representing our branch at many different events. We even qualified for the National Pony Club Championships competing in Horse and Pony Care. One of my "riding highlights" was when my school was successful in qualifying for the NSEA championships which was a massive achievement for our little public school from the Scottish Borders. My younger sister then acquired this pony and I moved onto a Connemara which through time I produced to BE standard and competed in one day events before selling him on as we had bought a foal bred from eventing lines and I am now ready to start competing him.
I am a very social person and am not only comfortable but thoroughly enjoy dealing / working / speaking to people from all different walks of life. Both my parents are known very well in our local towns and villages and I have been used to dealing with the public since a very young age. I am also a very conscientous person and when allocated a task to do I will always to it to my very best ability.
On a daily basis I ride a numerous amount of horses. This ranges from hacking, schooling, jumping and training days. I particularly find it very rewarding to produce and help difficult/ troubled horses. I have often helped 'marshall' group hacks, often leading young children or horses from my mount. I am confident in backing youngsters and working with horses who have behavioral issues such as bucking, rearing and bolting. During these times I have a very confident but calm approach.
