I am happy with any yard work or exercising if required. I have brought on young horses and competed in county-level showing and up to novice level dressage with animals I have started from scratch. I am currently working towards a Masters in Law but am doing this part time so am able to work full time, alongside working my own horse.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
I started my career as a volunteer in a local RDA riding school, helping out with general yard duties, leading horses on rides, assisting as side help for less able bodied riders. I continued with this up until the age of 16 where this turned to paid work and began to include some coaching. Once exhausting what I could learn from this yard, I made my way around various riding schools in my area picking up different roles (general yard groom, coach, and teaching pony club sessions both off and on the horse). From the age of 17 I moved through a small number of more professional yards working freelance alongside a part time job as a home groom. At age 18 I moved to university to study BSc Equine Sports Science and Coaching. I completed two years of this degree, whilst working on the university yard. Since leaving university I have worked as a home/show groom for an Olympic rider, managing staff and exercising fit competition horses.
Currently an undergraduate at Bishop Burton University studying BSc (HONS) Equine Sport Science and Coaching, this is a course focused on advanced equitation and coaching all levels in dressage and showjumping. While jumping has my heart, I have developed a love for the precision of dressage while studying and taking ridden lessons in equitation (my horse not so much!) At uni I have found an affinity for young / green horses, my lecturers are now focusing my practical sessions in that direction.
