I am working towards the BHS qualifications and would like to find a yard to complete my training while working. I am hardworking and always up for a challenge, and take pride in my attention to detail. I can provide references from previous employers.
I am also interested in learning about natural horsemanship and horse physiotherapy.
BHS Stage 1
Yard hand, Feeding, Mucking out, Turning out, Grooming, Tacking up, Customer service, Assisting instructor with lessons
Experience working in two riding school yards which provide, livery, lessons and hacks for both regular clients and tourists. I am used to working in a busy yard environment and multitasking, taking care of the horses and ensuring our clients have the best experience at the stables. By working there, I was able to further develop my people and team work skills as well as my horsemanship skills. Training for the BHS qualifications has helped me improve my stable management, riding skills and knowledge. I have gained a great amount of experience, which has prepared me to work at different yards and in various conditions. I take pride in my interpersonal and communication skills and have received positive feedback from my work with clients. My duties on the yard included: feeding, mucking out, turning out, tacking up/prepping for clients, grooming, general yard duties/cleaning, customer service, assisting instructor with classes
I believe it is essential to have a calm and understanding approach when it comes to horses (and people) and am very patient when working with them. I have experience working with children in a riding school environment and am familiar with safety and safeguarding procedures in yards. I enjoy working in a team and have developed my interpersonal skills throughout my job experiences. I am used to dealing with customers and handling client related issues and queries. Bilingual French + English.
Having been trained by BHS qualified instructors and an Andalusian endurance champion, I have achieved stage 1 riding abilities in terms of flatwork and hacking (assisting in leading groups out on trails) and basic schooling and would like to improve them and work towards the BHS complete horsemanship diploma. I have experience riding different types of horses, including endurance horses and polo ponies.
