Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue is an accredited equine sanctuary dedicated to providing lifelong care for retired and rescued horses while connecting them with the community through educational and therapeutic programming. Founded to ensure that horses have a safe and dignified future after their working careers, the sanctuary currently cares for more than 40 horses, many of whom are retired Thoroughbred racehorses.

LOHR is accredited by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, and recognized by the EQUUS Foundation, reflecting the organization’s commitment to the highest standards of equine care, welfare, and facility management.

The farm environment is focused on compassionate horsemanship, daily herd management, and individualized care for each horse. Staff and volunteers work closely with the horses to support their physical well being while maintaining a calm and respectful sanctuary setting.
