I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
13 years experience working with & riding horses. 3 years of teaching lessons to beginners & advanced beginners, from first time walk trot lessons to riders learning to jump. Hands on experience helping to break and train my own personal horse, although I will say he was probably the easiest horse in the world to train. countless hours of barn work, doing just about every job around the farm. Many hours of observing higher level riders and professional riders and learning from watching them
I currently clean stalls and do odd jobs around the farm to pay off board. I do teach a few lessons and cover for the trainer if she is away or sick. I'd defiantly like to be able to teach more and maybe even do some riding, and no so much barn work.
I've always loved horses. Each summer starting at the age of 6 I went to camp & rode horses. At the age of 11 my parents finally caved to let me take weekly lessons. I was never able to afford more than a lesson a week & never had enough money to show. I was often put on old stubborn lesson horses who could no longer jump, so I mostly rode flat until I was 18 when I began jumping. I got my horse, Java, as a 2 year old in 2011. I was not able to ride much as he was so young. When I got him I began working off my board, mostly cleaning stalls and tack & feeding horses. In 2012 I attended Meredith Manor Equestrian Centre but left 1/2 way through the program for personal reasons with both me & my horse. While there I was able to learn a bit about riding, training & teaching, although I did not finish the program to receive any certifications. When I came home I began teaching lessons at my old barn & continued to work off my board for my horse, which I am still doing to this day.
Teaching, Barn work, Riding, grooming, pretty much willing to do just about anything, and If I don't know how to do it already, I will try hard to learn quickly.
I prefer riding hunters/ jumpers but I have done some dressage & eventing. I consider myself a novice despite having been riding for 13 years. I only rode WTC on old lazy lesson horses until age 18 I when began learning to jump. The sudden switch to quicker younger horses made me a little nervous about riding but I stuck with it & have gotten less nervous recently. My riding could use quite a bit of improvement, especially when jumping, but I am willing to work hard to make myself better.
I don't have much experience riding in shows myself. I did a few fun shows at summer camps from age 13-18, nothing more than Walk, Trot, and Walk, Trot, Canter classes. I have done 3 combined tests on my personal horse, coming 1st, 6th and 2nd in each of them. Despite not having ridden in many competitions myself I have been to many shows to help out, and watch and would love to have a chance to ride in the shows myself.
