I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Six years under the tutelage of a trainer. Fifteen years total riding. Over a year teaching experience. CHA level 3/3 certified at first clinic. AA in Social Sciences for teaching.
Teach the basics of riding. First lessons up through Jumping, Dressage and Western Pleasure. Enjoy use of games and patterns to teach skills. Main focus is the safety of all students. Fun is the second most important. No fun means no learning.
First rode a horse fifteen years ago, and have been riding as much as I am able ever since. Spent six years working under the instruction of a trainer who teaches techniques used by Harry Whitney, Mark Rashid, Joe Wolter and Tom Dorrance. I myself have never had the chance to ride in a clinic, but I have audited Harry Whitney, Buck Branaman and Jonathan Field clinics. I have also attended Sacramento Horse Explo and studied several other trainers there.
While working with my trainer I got to help exercise her horses, and eventually her client horses. Take lessons on her and her clients horses. Assist in retraining client horses and working with problem behaviors. Helped with desensitization training, behavior issues, and preparing horses to be lesson and kid safe.
Teaching the horse and rider proper body carriage, bending and flexing, and foundation work. Focus a lot on ground work and translating that into the saddle. Consider the basic principals of dressage to be the foundation of good riding in any discipline. Do a lot of work on desensitizing horses to frightening things, working with plastic bags, umbrellas, balloons, loud equipment, rattling things, and exposing the horse to as many different stimulus in a controlled environment as possible.
Originally learned how to ride huntseat. Later learned dressage, jumping and western pleasure. Have no experience, but would love to learn, reining, cutting and cow work.
My focus in riding is to get a horse soft and moving fluidly through his or her entire body regardless of riding discipline. I believe strongly that all horses need to go on trail rides, although some may not be ready to do so.
