5 days a week AM/PM care of 45 horses. Part time dressage/H/J trainer.
I started my professional career in 2017 with Dean Equestrian out of Birmingham, AL. Jill Dean taught me what being a working student is really like... A shows, local shows, I was grooming at every single one while competing my own horse. Long nights and early mornings lunging, prepping, stall cleaning, feeding, schooling, catch riding, I was doing it all. In 2020 I managed a small run family farm while also picking up some training clients out in Austin, TX. 2021 I moved to Temecula, CA to work for John Pearce owner of Forest View Farms now located in Parker, CO. I groomed for John, I mainly was their home groom, rode all his training horses, show horses, up-kept the farm, daily chores. Currently I work for Kelsey Marcus out of Cedar Haven Stables doing all daily care, hiring, as well as teach Dressage and Hunter/Jumper lessons 3 days a week. When I started in July 2023 I revamped their daily routines to be more efficient, retrained current staff, and have maintained a happy team!
At my current position I make the hiring ads, hire, train, oversee all stablehands and farm duties. Schedule farrier visits, handle horses for vets, masseuse, chiropractor, etc. I have handled and cared for foals, yearlings, and studs. I ride with a soft seat and hand, I would like to say I am a brave rider, I have been asked to help with several "troubled" horses over the years.
I do not have experience being the first one to start a horse but I have aided in restarting some naughty or "trouble" horses. I am a brave handler/rider with a soft seat and hand and personally love training green/young horses from the ground up. I have primarily done Hunter/Jumpers but I am starting to dabble in the dressage world. Flat work is VERY important to me and I stress this to all my current clients as well.
I have worked at A show barns and been an A show groom as well as catch rode as an AMMY and competed a few client horses as a PRO.
