I have worked at a riding school performing the day to day care of the horses; as a polo groom where I was tacking up and bandaging polo ponies and volunteering as a trail guide at my local trekking centre where my duties included, tacking up and taking customers out on the trails. I then spent a year working as a racing stablehand. My duties included mucking out, feeding, tacking up, taking horses on and off the walker, supervising horses on the treadmill and occasionally strapping at trials. I have worked full time at a professional training/breaking yard for3 years. Here, I was involved in a number of aspects of the horse industry from riding breakers, thoroughbred and event horses, to assisting with foaling, handling mares/foals, competition grooming and all general horse duties.
