Take care of horses, lead guided trail rides and keep riders safe, comfortable, and entertained.
Equine Work Experience
For five summers I worked on a guest ranch in Michigan as a trail guide, and taking care of 45 horses, leading rides multiple times a day, for a range of ages and abilities. The past year, I have been working in New Zealand on various farms and horse trekking businesses, riding and working with young horses, leading trail rides, and taking care of the horses. Since I have had many different barn experiences, I have the ability to quickly adapt to different routines, understanding each individual horses' needs and behaviors, and working with all types of horse people.
I am not apprehensive when it comes to horses I am unfamiliar with, as I never owned a horse, therefore, I must work with and ride for other people. I have a number of years working with beginners and children and getting them comfortable in the saddle, as well as therapeutic riding for disabled adults and children.
Type of Ride Work
I mostly ride western, bareback, and I have a strong English seat, but I am not properly trained for any showing. Most of my riding is hacking and guiding trail rides.
