I’m 19 and looking for a working student position to further my riding skills. I have just started cantering, and I aspire to be a trainer. I am motivated to make a career in the equine industry!
I will graduate at Meredith Manor Equine Career College in June of 2018 with certifications in Dressage Riding, Teaching, Training and Equine Massage.
I currently attend Meredith Manor Equine Career College. There I am a barn manager over 17 horses and 13 students and ride at least twice a day four days a week. I also take many classes related to the horse industry.
I have been riding, taking lessons, and have owned horses for 14 years. I have been in horse 4H clubs for most of that time as well and have been riding, training, and showing my own horses. Over the past two summers I have worked at a riding stable training, grooming for the head trainer, and teaching beginner lessons. I have been attending Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre over the past two years and have been riding at least twice a day five days a week. I have also been taking many classes relating to the Equine industry including training, teaching, equine massage, and equine business management. I will be graduating with certifications in Dressage Riding, Training, Teaching, and Equine Massage. At school I am also on the Intercollegiate Dressage Association team where we compete with other schools in our district. This past season I was able to compete in the National competition as an individual as well.
I am a very dedicated worker and have experience working as a team. From both working a a riding stable and being a barn manager at school I have learned to supervise peers in order to get tasks done in the most efficient way possible. I am always looking for ways to expand my horsemanship skills and am excited for opportunities to learn more!
I have ridden many disciplines including jumping, hunt seat, western pleasure, reining and trail but over the last few years I have been training primarily in dressage. I am currently schooling movements up to third level. Being at school riding many different school horses, I have been able to learn how to work through and fix many different evasions.
I have shown with 4H for many years as well as the New Mexico Dressage Association. Over the past year I have been on the Intercollegiate Dressage Association team for my school. This past year I was the Regional Champion for my area so I was also able to compete at the National competition.
