Duties of Current Occupation
I am a full time student at Bridgewater College. I ride on the IHSA, Dressage, Eventing, and Show teams.
Equine Work Experience
From when I was 15-17 years old, I managed the Umass Stockbridge Stables and assisted theriogenologist Dr. Carlos Gradil with his breeding program/clients. I assisted in ultrasounding and handeling the mares, foals, and stallions. I also communicated with the clients.
I did an independents study at Umass when I was in highschool which consisted of teaching a beginner lesson to freshman college students and breaking in a feral 13 year old brood mare.
My past trainer was Jillianne Smith, the director of riding at Umass. My current trainers are Suzanne Markham, an FEI dressage rider and Jerry Schurink, the director of riding at Bridgewater College.
I owned my own Dutch Warmblood mare when I was 14. I also have helped train/show a 5 year old Dutch Warmblood gelding for Naomi Waidlich.
I studied abroad in higschool at the Stonar School in England, an eventing focused school where I rode twice a day and gained a ton of knowledge. I also went fox hunting.
My father is a theriogenologist, and I have worked as his technician since I was 15 years old with both large and small animals. I have been riding horses since I was 8 and surrounded by animals since I was born. I am a biology major and on the pre-vet track, planning on applying to vet school next year. I worked at the Umass breeding farm for 3 years and gained lots of experiance breaking and training young horses (mainly Hanoverians).
Type of Ride Work
I have a strong dressage background, eventing experience, show jumping, and competed in the hunters. I have done some A rated shows but due to mostly financing my own riding, have done more unrated shows than rated.
I have done some A rated shows but due to mostly financing my own riding, have done more unrated shows than rated. Last summer I showed a 5 year old Dutch warmblood gelding in the 2'9 jumpers at Vermont Summer Festival. I placed 6th at the Virginia Horse Trials last year in the Beginner Novice division. I have jumped up to 4', however I have not had the opportunity to do so consistently because I don't have my own horse.
