I don't have much experience, but I want and I'm willing to learn. I checked the stud/stallion boxes because I'm interested in learning how to handle and work with/around them.
Duties of Current Occupation
I've primarily stuck with stall mucking, with some feeding and grooming thrown in. I much prefer to muck stalls.
Equine Work Experience
A cumlutation of a year and a half? Not enough, really, with how smitten I am to horses. Most of my experience with horses had been going out to local pastures on the weekends, when I was younger. Sticking to the fence line, I would sit there and watch them go about their daily routines. Occasionally, they would come up to me and let me pet them, some staying for stretches of time, not wanting to give up the attention (especially one mare who would drive the others off so she could have me for herself!).
Out of the past ten years I volunteered to help a guy out in his barn, where I mostly did stall mucking and helped with any missed feedings. This was probably only for three months. A couple of years after that, I was able to get a job working on a horse farm that was out of state, and that was for 6 months. Again, mostly it was stall mucking, but I got to groom (which I haven't done at that point). And there was a couple of times I mucked stalls for an older woman a few years ago.
I strength train with an emphasis on power lifting, so picking up heavy objects and moving them around would be it!
