Working with/developing young horses Teaching children to care for horses and ride Restarting older horses Working with public/boarders Interest in biomechanics, bodywork, and saddle fitting
I have experience mostly in dressage and flatwork, and have a passion for developing young horses and restarting older horses. I have ridden dressage for the majority of riding experience, however, I do have some training in hunter jumper from taking lessons weekly over one summer with a hunter trainer and riding in clinics with hunter jumper trainers sponsored by 4H. I am also proficient in driving horses on the ground and hitched. I am comfortable working with draft horses and harness horses.
I do not have extensive showing experience, but I have participated in many dressage schooling shows in RI, CT and MA, and I have shown hunters in the 4H shows in RI and CT for the past two years.
For the past three years, I have also shown my own horse at the 4H horse show at the Big E in Springfield, MA. This is a five-day event where 4H'ers care for their own horse and show in classes every day. In the past two years, we have placed in the top 10 in all of our classes at the Big E.
