Equine Work Experience
I have been riding and caring for horses for 12 years. I have owned/trained two of my own horses, one of which was 4 when I got him. I have worked several years of summer horseback riding camp, along with being a stable hand. As a stable hand I was responsible for: feeding/watering the horses, daily turnout, blanketing, bathing/grooming, cleaning, tack maintenance, and injury care. I also have experience with lunging horses and acting as a groom at horse shows.
I hold a bachelor's degree in pre-veterinary medicine and animal bioscience. As part of my degree I took an equine management class. Additionally, I have spent a couple hundred hours volunteering at the University of Pennsylvania's large animal hospital, the New Bolton Center. Here I assisted veterinarians and veterinary technicians with equine assessment and care. I jogged horses, performed wound care, and obtained a great amount of knowledge.
Type of Ride Work
I have been trained in and shown in the hunter ring.
I have competed in both local and A-rated horse shows, including at the Devon Horse Show. I have attended many shows as a groom or assistant.

I worked the summer camp during the summers of 2009 and 2010. I also worked as a stable hand for the summer of 2008 and on weekends throughout the next two years.
On some weekends I worked as a stable hand. I fed/watered horses, did daily turnout, changed blankets, tacked up horses for training, cleaned the barn, and performed wound care.
