Currently I work under two co barn managers to manage a herd of over 135 horses. I preform daily duties such as mucking stalls, turn out, lunging, administering medicine as well as assisting chiropractors, massage therapists, farriers and vets.
I have been around horses on a near daily basis for the past five years. I have a basic foundation in both hunter jumper as well as dressage disciplines. I was a member of IHSA for two and a half years showing in regionals, zones and nationals multiple times. I am also a member of IDA. For the past three years I have worked with a team of peers under two co barn managers to manage and care for a herd of over 135 horses. I preform daily duties such as but not limited to stall cleaning, lunging, turn out, blanketing, feeding, grooming, administering medicine, working with chiropractors, massage therapists, farriers and on site vets, and general cleaning and upkeep of the facility.
I have my Associates in Equestrian Studies with an emphasis in hunter/jumper and expect to graduate May 2017 with my Bachelors in Equine Business Management. I have taken various courses such as equine nutrition, preventative medicine, software applications in equine business management and farm and stable management. I have experience working with and giving lessons to children as well as disabled people.
I have a basic foundation in the hunter jumpers as well as dressage. I have schooled up to 2"6 and shown at 2"3 at University horse shows as well as schooled and shown through intro level. I have competed in IHSA shows as a walk trot, and walk trot canter rider.
Shown with University IHSA Hunt Seat Team for two and a half years. I have shown through Advanced Walk Trot Canter on the flat and am a zone champion, two-time regional champion, and two-time national competitor placing 5th in the nation my second appearance.
