hard working mature female still looking for job with own live in accommodation .Happy to do horses/housekeeping/ gardening etc . Just looking for for a happy place where my dogs would be welcome in the accommodation. I have had lots of experience with horses and housekeeping including pet care . I am looking to start in May and interested In full time ,part time but ,permanent. Work . I can provide written references. .
I’m 19 and looking for a working student position to further my riding skills. I have just started cantering, and I aspire to be a trainer. I am motivated to make a career in the equine industry!
My forte is the periparturient care of mares and foals, overnight foal watch and foaling. I have scheduled and overseen veterinary appointments where I was praised for my efficiency, organization and attention to detail. I am proficient at artificial insemination and have a useful understanding of reproduction. Some of my management duties included scheduling, payroll, record keeping, ordering inventory, conducting interviews, training staff and conflict resolution.
I am a former Farm Manager/Broodmare Manager/Foaling Attendant within Thoroughbred and Standardbred industries. Currently managing an Arabian training barn part-time. Willing to relocate for the right long-term opportunity.
With over two decades of horse experience, I have handled breeding stallions, teaser stallions, racehorses/spellers, yearlings, weanlings, broodmares, foals and a myriad of layups. Can administer medications and perform treatments per instructions. Minimal sales prep and live cover experience. Although I have a solid understanding of equine behavior and training, I do not consider myself to be a "trainer." Familiar with designing websites, creating advertisements, managing social media, and taking sales photos.
In addition to the equine experience detailed above, I have three college degrees. My studies concentrated on animal health, farm management, technology, sustainability and education. Outside of the equine industry, I have served within regulatory, as a herdsperson on dairy farms, and have done some teaching, including paid seminars on the examination of the fetal membranes (placenta). While my background may be described as eclectic and somewhat unconventional, I find it to be an asset.
I took intense English riding lessons with a professional trainer for 10 years. Additionally, I completed several private driving lessons at Alfred University in 2011 which culminated in the Single Draft Horse Driving test that I passed despite the horse spooking and bolting. However, I no longer ride and am NOT seeking a riding position.
I am strictly seeking foaling work at this time, and would prefer not to stay on during the non-foaling season. I've had lots of fun experiencing all the glory that comes with being the Farm Manager, and now I'd much prefer to support a Manager and team that I respect, so I can devote my full attention to taking exceptional care of the mares and foals.
