I have many years of riding experience as well as years of experience caring for, handling, and grooming. I am capable of working with several kinds of horses, from the quiet old school horse to a hot and quirky jumper. I also have good communication skills, a great work ethic, and the ability to learn and pick things up quickly to adapt to a new program
As an equestrian studies and business major sophomore at the University of Findlay, my daily tasks include: -Riding 6 days a week(2-5 horses depending on IHSA schedule) -Stall cleaning -Feeding -Grooming -Turning out -Working with green horses
I've got a cumulative 15 years of riding experience. This has included experience trail-riding as well as riding and showing horses in the equitation, hunter, and jumper rings. I also have experience feeding, mucking stalls, turning out, and grooming including clipping, trimming/pulling, and braiding. I've gained experience teaching through working at an equine riding camp at Bookmark Farms in Pataskala OH, and working as a member of barn staff/groom at Hunters Court Farm in Johnstown, OH. This year at the University of Findlay I have also gained the opportunity to work with green horses, including breaking out a colt myself while also observing others.
I specialize in hunter-seat riding and competition as well as the grooming and care that goes into these horses.
Over the past few years I have mainly been focusing my interest in the jumper ring, however I can also ride equitation and hunter horses. Currently I ride a former 1.30 metre jumper Dutch warmblood mare, and a 3 year old appendix who I started in January. I am also on the University of Findlay's IHSA hunt-seat team, so I am capable of adapting to different horses quickly.
I've shown up to 2'6 in the hunter and equitation rings, and up to 1.0 metre in the jumper ring. I also have experience going to the same show as both a rider and groom, so I am capable of multitasking well.
