Working Student position at AA show barn at 17 Groom for multiple show barns and the queen of up down lessons while in college Barn Manager for new startup facility that helped create a large lesson program catering to all age groups Ridden, shown and groomed at some of the top horse shows in the nation including HITS Culpeper, Oaks Blenheim, The Colorado Horse Park, Tryon International, and many more.
Lead cat herder, shaper of young minds, and organizational Nazi.
Horsemanship knowledge that began as a pony kid who refused to leave the barns all day on Saturday. All horsemanship skills that one would expect as a professional barn rat. (Stable bandaging, bathing, mucking, tack cleaning, and laundry services) At the age of 14 my punishment for lying to my parents was to help the grooms at the full service barn. Little did they know I would acquire skills such as mane pulling, lunging, body clipping, and a vast knowledge of horsemanship skills. I have shown at the local, regional, and national level. I have restarted thoroughbreds, and broken (gentled? if you prefer kinder terms) ponies and horses. I enjoy being part of the transformation of donkeys into unicorns.
Lead cat herder, shaper of young minds, and organizational Nazi. I enjoy working long hours with little rest. I thrive under pressure and am an excellent self-starter. Catering to animals competing at the highest levels sets my soul on fire. I love the fast paced atmosphere of horse shows and would prefer to be someone's right handed woman for success. I am nearly always in a good mood when well caffeinated and occasionally fed.
I am a competent rider. I have the ability to flat the snot out of large ponies and junior hunters. I make a great human lunge line and can stay on the best of bucks. I find great excitement out of perfectly round circles and crisp upward transitions. Under no circumstances am I looking to become the next Kent Farrington. My skill set is far better suited helping clients and horses rather than hurling myself toward obstacles taller than myself.
