My primary focus has always been hunter/jumpers and field hunters, but I also have experience with eventing, dressage, and western performance horses. I was actively involved with not only the hunter/jumper show circuit and all aspects of riding, grooming, and care, but also 4H and the extension programs through Michigan State University. I started catch riding and working off lessons at age 12 by doing barn chores on the weekends. I worked at at least one horse barn on the weekends, after school, and during the summer from 12-17, learning not only all aspects of riding and groundwork, but also about first aid, nutrition, horse management, barn management, and pasture management. At 16, I also started shadowing local veterinarians and farriers to increase my knowledge. I have worked at several barns, groomed in Michigan, Ocala and Tryon(local, AA, FEI), whipped in for several hunts, and have managed farms ranging from small, private facilities to large commercial facilities.
Mainly hunter, jumpers, eventing, and foxhunting. I also have experience with AQHA, APHA, and reining barns. I have grooming and managing experience ranging from local member shows up to the FEI level (H/J&Dressage)
I braid(hunter, jumper, dressage, running, babies),clip, haul any size rig local and long distance, deal with bad loaders/other 'problem' horses, IV/IM injections, wrap, lunge/siderein, round pen, massage therapy, bodyworking, equine modalities (theraplate, laser, red light, etc)
Type of Ride Work
I have been riding since 1997 and I was 5 years old. I started competing in short stirrup classes at 8 years old. A majority of my experience is riding hunters, jumpers, and field hunters (Showing 3'6, schooling 4'+ at home). I was a successful pony jock as a junior and I have piloted everything from 12.2 ponies to 17.2 Warmbloods around, ranging from barely green broke to as made as can be. I also have experience with dressage horses, eventers, western performance horses, and racehorses.
