Having grown up with horses and owning both young and seasoned horses as an adult, I have an expansive base of experience, along with having been a client at a schooling and riding barn. Most importantly, I am rather enthusiastic in working with the individual personality of each horse and arriving at an understanding of what positively motivates each and every horse in the barn.
I have ridden jumpers, hunt seat, dressage, and western. Lunging and teaching basic basic barn manners were integral aspects of owning five Arabians, some of which were bought as two year olds in training. Three of the five were straight Egyptians, which would connote that I rather enjoy intelligent and spirited horses. As a juvenile, I was both a show groom and rider. As with owning any equine, I have endured the gamut of addressing injuries and colic, in addition to stall cleaning, pasture upkeep, and paddock repairs. Tack cleaning and polishing are intrinsic to basic horsemanship.
I am a gentle but firm handler and more about working with horses than anything remotely punitive. With Arabians, the art of negotiation and psychology works best for a successful outcome. In addition to natural horsemanship, I have had the privilege of working with one particular "horse whisperer" who produced amazing results!
As stated, my show experience was rather vast as a juvenile but has waned considerably as an adult. That said, as part of the support staff, I am a highly reliable and capable individual who would serve any rider admirably in providing the kind of expertise and enthusiasm for a winning team!
