Normal barn duties (horses and other livestock), keep younger kids in line, assist with vet, etc
I've owned 3 older horses over the past 8 years on my family's property, as well as work at and look after the local farm when the owner was away. I've also completed an equine anatomy/physiology course and an intro to conformation/judging course at my community college. I’ve done quite a bit of wound care over the past year, and gory yucky wounds don’t bother me a bit.
Usually kids like me without any effort on my part, I haven't figured out why. I'm not super experienced yet but I enjoy wound care, and I've treated some gnarly ones. If I have a list and some initial guidance I'm pretty decent at whatever it is I'm doing.
I prefer riding english unless my boss asks me to "go see if that new one rides", in which case I prefer western :) I've primarily been trail riding. I could definitely use some direction in my rides, I wouldn't classify myself as a good rider.
I've timed the barn kid's barrel races and handled the jackpot distribution a few times, that's the extent of my competition experience.
