Honest, reliable equestrian lady called several names: horse witch, whisperer, natural horseman etc., etc., I prefer to be known as horse-sense with many years experience starting young horses under saddle (no buking out!) to winning. I get down to the root what causes problem physical or temperamental creating enjoyable rides. Special "communication, horse-sense" to be successful, that's what I like to teach. All around trainer: English stadium jumper, 3 Day Eventing, western dressage.
I am currently working on getting my USHJA trainer certification that will be up for review in June. I regularly keep my students participating in local horse shows but have also travel to Kentucky and Wellington for shows.
I am a USHJA Certified Trainer and I oversee a competitive Hunter/Jumper barn. I coordinate our lesson program and teach beginner through advanced lessons. I oversee our grooms and schedule vet, farrier, etc. I also compete and school client horses.
I began working in a barn that specialized in starting Young Horses for both dressage and jumping . We also specialized in working with problem horses and helping them sort through issues like bucking scooting refusing excetera. As a manager I have experience working with lesson horses and retired horses all the way through FEI level dressage and jumpers. and treating horses with various ailments. I have also been responsible for facility maintenance including operating a truck and trailer and tractor and dragging the ring Etc.
I enjoy working with horses at various stages and helping them cultivate their skills and peak condition. I have a great understanding of how to diagnose and work through problems without gimmicks and strive to look at each horses personality and physique in order to develop a program that enhances their overall well being and job performance. I am extremely detail oriented and carry that throughout the facility no matter if it's a school horse or high level performance show jumper.
I enjoy working with hunters and jumpers but also believe in incorporating dressage into all aspects of flat work. I am experienced jumping and competing from baby greens through 1.2m jumpers. I have also worked retraining Western and dressage horses for jumping as well as off-the-track thoroughbreds. I also over the last three years have developed my teaching skills with beginner through advanced students including those competing in local and A rated shows.
I compete client horses when the opportunity presents itself in whatever classes the horses need to be schooled whether it be pre green Hunters through higher-level jumpers.
