I have caretaken farm and ranch situations previously, have problem-solving skills, patience and calmness around animals and have an extensive science background. I worked in 4-H programs where students raised and showed animals. I am currently certified in CPR and First Aid.
All middle school - high school science. Lot's of previous farm and ranch experience, taught horsback riding and volunteered for Equestrian Challenge.
I have taught basic horsemanship and riding at the New Mexico Girl's Ranch, boarded horses as a youth (and owned one), volunteered with Naples Equestrian Challenge, caretook all animals including horses at Crystal Mesa Animal Farm in Santa Fe, and worked a summer at a 27 horse ranch where I helped train a stallion to pull cart.
I am generally good with animals and have experience with many facets of ranching and organic farming as well as sustainable living research and practices. I am an avid horse lover, study plants in the wild and participate in birdwatching. I am hoping to retire from teaching science and get back to my first love.
I have ridden both Western and English in the arena and on the trail. I grew up riding bareback, but had various lessons throughout my adult years until I taught basic horsback riding. Worked with handicap children through Equestrian Challenge.
My husband and I are financially secure and are looking for a caretaking position where I can put my horse talents to work. I am energetic, health conscious and hard-working. My husband is retired, but is a good accomplice who manages time and money well. I also write for Study.com on-line for supplimental income so am able to do some work from home. I am open to doing more as I enjoy real work.
