I have over 10 years of experience riding and caring for horses. I started riding at age nine and I knew I had found my passion. I have a hard-working no nonsense ethic at the barn and a sixth sense when working with horses. My ultimate goal is to become a horse trainer and rehabilitate horses who have been abused. I ride English but can go western as well and have enjoyed extensive hours "extreme trail riding" through the Berkshires. I'm a highly motivated horseman looking for new opportunities in my area. I would love to apprentice at a farm that has focus on training so that I could gain skills in the field, but I'm open to all situations.
I worked as a "Professional Foot Fitter" for three years while I lived in Pennsylvania which provided me the skills and knowledge to help and deal with people in a professional setting. My job included providing excellent customer service to customers. Completing sales which I earned commission on, and guiding customers to find the right shoes for their needs. I learned a lot about different foot conditions and was able to sensitively help resolve serious footwear problems.
Type of Ride Work
I started off riding English with heavy equitation emphasis and continued for three years with a trainer.I carried my skills to different riding institutions taking lessons and applying what I already knew to work with green and inexperienced horses. I now enjoy providing my horsemanship skills working with horses to get back into shape and to touch up on problem areas. I'm extremely versatile and have a never-ending fascination with how the equine mind works and how we can improve comminication
Although competing isnt my field of interest, I've competed in a few gymkanas and did extremely well.
