Caring for the large quantities of horses in our facility, including sick or injured horses, assisting students in proper horse care, making sure students are following barn rules, giving daily medications, and picking up extra chores or stalls.
I started riding when I was five. But then I got out of it for a couple years, before picking it up again in High School. I atteded Norfolk County Agricultural High School where I was an Equine Major there, and was able to take part in riding lessons as well as learning about horse care. I also took part in FFA Horse judging all four years, and our team won the MA state competition and placed at Nationals as well. Throughout high school I was also a working student at a barn in Norwell for 3 years, were I helped care for horses on a fast growing farm. I am currently furthering my equine career at the University of Findlay, where I am in the final semester of my Sophomore year. We ride 5-6 days a week and are responsible for caring for our assigned horse. I have experiecne working with unbrokes as well as green horses. I am comfortable schooling flat, and jumping 2'6" courses.
I consider myself to be a very kind and dedicated person. Horses are not just a hobby for me but a lifestyle. I specialize in Hunter/Jumper riding but have dabbled in other disciplines as well. I take pride in attention to detail, and I also really love working with young horses and green horses. I have done some teaching under other trainers, and I really love it, and find it extremely rewarding.
In high school I mainly competed in small local schooling shows, but I am currently on the IHSA team for Findlay, I was also able to show down at WEC last year
