Approximately nine years of riding lessons and experience with horses.
I was attending college for a bachelors degree in biology but I decided to take a gap year to do an internship at a non-profit organization. The internship puts a heavy emphasis on servant leadership and loving others and Jesus.
I grew up taking riding lessons at a local stable and eventually helped around the stable giving lessons to beginning and younger riders, grooming and tacking lesson horses, stable chores, helping start young horses and work with green horses. The stable was home to many different breeds and disciplines of horses, including Andalusians, Quarter horses, Tennessee walkers, Rocky Mountain horses, American Saddlebreds, and Shetland ponies. I had lessons on all of these breeds and learned about dressage, reining, gaited horses, and general horsemanship. I later spent a month at a natural horsemanship farm in Costa Rica riding, taking lessons, and doing daily stable chores. In college I played polo for a semester but had to stop due to time constraints.
