I have held a position at a show barn as Riding School Manager's Assistant where I was responsible for the planning and preparation for the lesson program. In addition my studies at William Woods University has begun to prepare and teach me more about the horse industry.
I have been riding for about thirteen years now. I began riding and a small farm where I learned western. Once I grew too advanced for my starter barn I began riding and showing Quarter Horses. The first horse I owned was a thoroughbred although he was an all around horse we specialized in hunter/jumper and dressage. I once again moved up in level and moved facilities in order to accommodate my horse and I. Here I only rode hunter/jumper and worked on improving my horse and my own abilities. I am currently enrolled in school at William Woods University where I take classes both in the traditional setting and applied riding classes so I can continue to grow and learn as a rider.
Horses, Care, Riding, Handeling, Knowledge & Management
In the past few years I have ridden heavily Hunter/Jumper. I mainly ride and show in the hunter and equitation rings but I have schooled many jumpers. In the past, I have ridden and shown Quarter Horses and done some work in dressage.
When I first started showing I mainly attended local and 4-H shows. Once I started riding Quarter Horses I began showing at the local and nationally recognized shows. I showed very minimal at the local level in dressage. Most recently I have been showing at recognized and rated hunter/jumper shows.
