Since I was ten, I have ridden at/worked at/ volunteered at six different farms. My different jobs have covered exercising and training dressage and eventing horses, feeding, watering, grooming, and so on for many different horses. I have done barn maintenace from mucking out stalls to cutting grass to helping repair fences. I volunteered at a 188 acre showbarn where people from all over the United States come to competein dressage, show jumping, and eventing. I helped with scoring, judging, signing guests in, showing guests where to go, and so on. I am currently working at a barn where I am exercising two horses and feeding eight horses. I am also volunteering at a seperate barn that specializes in working with special needs kids. I help groom and tack the horses, work with the kids during lessons, and other barn maintenance jobs.
I have done mostly English riding, especially dressage. I am training in first level dressage and exercise/train other horses in training level. I have also trained and worked with horses on ground manners. To me, ground manners are more important than performance under saddle, so I make sure that horses I work with have at least a basic understanding of ground manners.
