As far as certifications go, I am not certified with any associations yet however, this is something I am currently working on and looking forward to.
My main duties of my current volunteer job include, feeding, exercising, training, picking up hay, feed, and shavings, make all farrier and veterinarian appointments.
I have been riding and taking of horses for a little more than fourteen years. I mainly work with horses who have bad habits such as, bridaling problems, ground manner issues, or horses who are spooky, and retraining horses into jumpers and hunter jumpers.I have owned and been around horses since I was six months old, and started riding when I was about four years of age. I spend about 6 hours per day training and taking care of my horses as well as, other people's horses. I enjoy working with even the most stubborn and "dangerous" of horses, as it allows me to further my knowledge and experience of horses.
I mainly have worked with quarter horses and thoroughbreds for the last two years, who either have picked up bad habits or just haven't been ridden for a long time, and need to be retrained/ brushed up on their training.
As far as the type of ride work, I mainly do hunters, jumpers and equitation work.
Currently, I mainly ride in the hunter jumpers and soon hope to be entering some jumper shows in the weeks to come. Recently, I have competed with my high school's IEA team and have placed very well in the flat and 2'6 classes, I have also competed in the pony finals and shows up in conyers ga, with my own two quarter horses geldings. We usually jump 2'6-3 ft, depending on the weekend, along with some flat classes.
