Equine Canada rider level 2 of 3
I have worked in administration at Carleton University for the past 5 years.
I grew up riding hunter/jumper with Sandy Patterson in Ottawa, Canada. We trained up to 4" at home. When we were not riding, we worked full days at the farm. We did everything required, from mucking stalls to teaching summer camp. I regularly groomed for an event rider at our farm.
When I graduated from high school, I decided to try dressage. I was coached by Ron King, also in Ottawa. I schooled up to third level at home and also practiced piaffe/passage. I also worked part-time at this farm. This was a very demanding position. On weekends, I alone cared for 20 horses, from feeding to turnout to mucking stalls, and whatever else was required that day. I also bandaged, adminstered medication and lunged horses as required. I helped my coach break two young horses.
Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Endurance
I am seeking a grooming position with no riding required.
I have competed up to 3ft hunter/jumper, 1st level dressage and 50 mile endurance.
