Equine Work Experience
Grew up in a family of animal & horse people on both sides. Started riding lessons around 8. Started showing at the local level at 9. At 12, I got my first & only horse, Bronson, and continued showing through high school & college. Bronson was a Quarter Horse, and he was 4 and green when we bought him in December 1999.
My horse became a special case when he was diagnosed with uveitis, and a detached retina was later discovered by ultrasound. I have experience with visually impaired horses & the basic care & guidance they need. During complications from medications used to treat his uveititis my horse also foundered so I also have knowledge & know the basic treatment & maintenance of founder & laminitis.
In addition to showing on the local level, I was also involved in 4-H, where I always made it to the state level of competition. I was also briefly a memeber of the Penn State Equestrian Team.
