Equine Work Experience
Feeding livestock using the Equine Center’s ATV, dug trenches for arena and round pen drainage, cleaned and stripped stalls, swept and cleaned tack room, organized and polished tack, took inventory of livestock medicines and ointments, restocked hay barn on a regular basis, assisted with rehabilitation of injured horses and cattle, used tractors to drag performance arenas and used the skid-steer to accomplish various tasks around the facility. Also prepared AVs for collection of the stallion, Rotated mares through the stocks for veterinary care, Doctored newborns and older foals, Assisted in flushing mare embryo, Washed mare in preparation for veterinary care, fed horses, distributed daily medication and sorted mares from pasture to barn and vice versa.
