I started riding horses when I was 7 and have been relentless ever since. I joined 4-H as soon as I was old enough and participated actively in my horse club. I competed in every 4-H horse show I could in every discipline they offered (gymkhana, huntseat, western equitation/pleasure, trail, jumping, and showmanship). I was always responsible for my horses' care, so I learned horse husbandry and horsemanship thoroughly. In addition to my hands-on and riding experience, I was also actively involved in a hippology (study of horses) team. I spent a significant amount of my time reading textbooks and studying samples/diagrams to compete in state, and later national, competitions. In 2013, I placed 1st in the nation as an individual in hippology. All throughout my high school years, I emersed myself in dressage lessons and training. I competed successfuly through 1st level on my warmblood gelding, but was training through Prix St. George movements at home with my trainer.
Type of Ride Work
I mainly have experience riding dressage and trail riding. I am comfortable in any tack, but am most competent in a dressage saddle or bareback.
