CPR/First Aid, Tractor Driving & Safety Operations
Current senior student at California State University, Fresno, set to graduate in December 2018. Looking for a part-time job or internship in the fall that could potentially lead to full-time, or provide good experience for a full-time job.
Have been around horses for 15+ years, knowledgeable about multiple aspects of husbandry and riding. Can perform a variety of tasks including: bandaging, wrapping legs, clipping, banding, braiding, lunging, driving (on the ground), riding, obstacle work, and first aid.
Proficient in reading and understanding horse behavior, and have experience handling young stock, including foals, broodmares, and middle-aged to old horses. Minimal experience with stallions.
Effective at working with horses on desensitization, using a gentling method rather than being aggressive. Has knowledge of natural horsemanship and can succeed at helping horses overcome fears and challenges without intimidating or being aggressively dominant.
Currently working at California State University, Fresno's Student Horse Center and Quarter Horse Unit, performing a variety of duties
Currently looking into acquiring a BGA Equine Skills CV level.
Have ridden both English and Western, but more proficient in Western. Skills also include groundwork.
In Western, skills include pleasure, trails, reining, and basic cutting.
In English, skills include flatwork, basic dressage and jumping (below 2').
Competed in Western pleasure at two shows in Woodside, CA. Have won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
