Equine Work Experience
I started taking riding lessons at the age of 14, finding myself very interested in jumping. Once my riding skills progressed I took advantage of every chance I had the opportunity to ride and work with horses. I found myself taking care of a retired jumper, exercising two OTTBs doing flatwork and jumping, conditioning horses for endurance, helping my trainer(s) with lessons, assisting in training some young and/or green horses and much more. I participated in a 25 mile endurance race, participated in local jumping playdays, entered a couple of dressage shows and schooled cross country when I could. I have had the opportunity to ride a couple dozen horses and have had time to learn many of the basics of equine care and riding.
I have a basic understanding of bandaging, equine first-aid, lunging, exercising, riding, and have self-taught myself how to clip.
