I maintain their nutrition and distribute medications to the horses. I clean the stalls and make sure the well being of horses are well kept and if injury occurred I was able to help efficiently.
Equine Work Experience
I have been around horses my entire life and am extremely passionate about them. I started working at Seven Oaks Equestrian Center in May of 2011 as a horse feeder. I have taken care of 50 horses by maintaining their nutritional diets, distributing individual medication, overlooking any injuries and if necessary treating each so. I cleaned stalls, washracks, blankets, remodled barn bathrooms, and much more. I have trained horses and assisted in teaching lessons. I have horse show experience in getting ready for, (bathing, clipping, ect.) during, (lunging, warming up, getting ready and pristine) and after (loading on and off trailering). I have volunteered at MANE in Montgomery with special needs children for a summer.
Type of Ride Work
I began riding lessons at five and entered a barrel competition at six and have been riding ever since. I started western seat when I was younger and began jumping at eleven. I bought my first horse at thirteen and started showing him in hunter-jumper shows then show-jumping shows and most recently eventing. At eighteen I joined Judson College's equestrian hunt seat team and began competing against large colleges such as Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi State.
