Duties of Current Occupation
Increased overall barn efficiency by implementing and maintaining organized systems for feed, bedding, and equipment storage. Coordinated with veterinarians and farriers for timely visits, ensuring optimal horse health and proper hoof care.
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding horses since I could walk, but taking lessons since I was nine years old. I specialize in hunters and jumpers. I have minor experience in training warmbloods and quarter horses. I have been at multiple barns in my life and take pride in being involved in the barn outside of things with just my horse. The barn that I currently work at has helped me see the side of management that I haven't had a chance to see before. I now primarily deal with making sure that the barn is in order, the horses are taken care of, and it is a place that people are proud to be a part of.
Specialities
I have worked with all types of horses, but I mainly deal with working horses in both western and English. I manage a team of seven part time employees, and I am a team captain of an IHSA team with 15 people. I take pride in working at the highest standard possible and prioritize keeping my barn clean.
Type of Ride Work
I usually gravitate towards the problem horses. I get along with them well. I normally only ride horses that have some training already, and I've never had experience with a starting a horse from the ground up. I have a lot of experience with over fences in both hunters and jumpers, but I prefer jumpers. I also ride on the flat frequently.
Competition Details
I have been involved in preparing and setting up two IHSA shows in the last year, and I oversaw a dressage show. I have competed in different organizations such as IHSA, FFA, 4H, and the Colorado Hunter Jumper Association.
