Equine Work Experience

I have about 20 years of working with a variety of different horse breeds and disciplines. I have a bachelor's degree in Equine Science and I have worked at an Equine Hospital. I started riding hunter/jumpers with thoroughbreds off the track. I have owned 4 horses in my life. I currently prefer to ride western but if I am interested in an equine sport I will read about it and study videos of that sport. I have a general knowledge of many equine sports.

Specialities

I have worked with a variety of different horses breeds. I have also worked with foals, stallions, and broodmares. I have experience with weaning and working around yearlings. I have also worked with yearlings to prep them for sales. I have experience as a trainer from teaching beginning riding lessons to training fellow co-workers. I can work independently or in a team setting. I also pick up concepts fairly quickly. I pride myself in being efficient and transparent.

Type of Ride Work

I have experience restarting thoroughbreds off the track. My recent horse was 3 yrs old and recently off the track. I worked with her to teach her to calm down. She liked to bolt when she could. I have ridden hunt seat, western, and saddleseat. I do not have direct experience starting a horse but I had to learn while I was in college.

Competition Details

I started riding in local schooling shows on the flat. I rode hunters during college and attended several shows.
